At Dr. DeCato and Associates, we believe a doctor and patient form a team in treating an individual’s feet. Our physicians spend most of their time listening to and understanding your concerns and then responding with the best treatment options for you. Along with the help of our excellent staff, our doctors also follow-up with you to make sure your pain is relieved, problems are resolved, and your health improves.

Dr. DeCato and Associates was founded by Dr. John DeCato, a lifelong resident of Ashtabula county. Dr. DeCato graduated from Grand River Academy in 1980 before conducting his undergraduate studies at Mt. Union College. From there, he proceeded to attend the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Science for his graduate studies. In 1989, he graduated with his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). Dr. DeCato completed his residency at Riverside Hospital (Toledo, OH) in 1991, and then returned to Ashtabula to open the practice.

In addition to Dr. DeCato, our other podiatrists on staff include Dr. Lori Herpen (who is married to Dr. DeCato), and Dr. Susan Orabovic.

If you would like to make an appointment, please contact our office by phone or email. Our office facilitates communications, which means emergency calls and appointments are available and welcome, especially for new patients seeking help.

We will be more than happy to submit all insurance forms for you and help you recover the most from your benefits. We will do everything we can to help you afford the treatment you need and want. Forms of payment we accept are cash, check, and all major credit cards. We also accept CareCredit.

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice. We ask for this advance notice so we can offer the canceled appointment to another patient. Our office reserves the right to charge a fee in cases where a patient does not show up for a scheduled appointment without sufficient notice. Please be aware that cancellations fees are typically not covered by insurance plans.
